It was a last minute decision, but we ended up going to Kudanshita instead of Tsukiji.
There was a temple that Demetri wanted to see.
Looking back on it, we severely misunderstood the project.
The assignment was to focus on one object in the area and its relation to everything around it, while we thought we were just observing the entire area.
As a result, I took a shitload of pictures all over the place.
So now, the pictures are kind of useless now, but I'll post up some of the ones I thought were good.
It's as close to "street photography" as I'll ever get.
Well anyways, we came back and met up with Maaike, Josh, and Nathan at the train station. They were out doing their project in Asakusa.
We had like a good hour before class so we wanted to get something under the train station to eat.
Demetri was craving ramen, so he went back to the ramen place.
Maaike, Nathan, and I went to a beef bowl place near the one I went to yesterday.
And I got this beast meal.
I'm definitely going back for more.
Today's class was pretty cool (anime class again).
We talked about different ideologies in anime and used some movie clips to show examples.
Like Akira and GitS 1.
And finally we finished off with a full screening of Paprika.
I had already seen it, but the second screening helped me understand it a bit more.
Between then and dinner was just trying to read articles, but it ended up being me being distracted by Facebook and Reddit. No different from regular school.
Finally people came back from whatever they were doing and we could go out.
It was 11 of us and we decided to go to a steak and burger place down the street.
When we got there, though, we were too many so they couldn't serve us, so we walked out.
It was ok, cuz we had a backup.
There was a place on the opposite side where each dish was 280ish yen. They had all kinds of things.
And you could order off a touch screen like in Stacked, except one of the two kept bitching out on us so we had to share 1 among 11 people.
We had a lot of things, almost too many, so I couldn't really take pictures of it all.
We had mochi bacon, curry fried rice, some stamina bowl, green onions, edamame, chicken wings, crisscross fries, potato wedges, chicken katsu, yakiudon, takoyaki, and more.
Overall, the dinner was pretty good, but more expensive than I expected. Even with the split.
So tomorrow, we get to spend class at the Ghibli Museum and another animation museum.
Something I've looked forward to for years.
